Dr. Marilu Martinez is the Research Coordinator for the project. She has over 14 years of experience implementing research projects in the US and Latin America. She is originally from Mexico but her family moved to Texas as a teen. She enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and taking pictures of landscapes and nature. She has a Pekingese dog, Maya, that accompanies her to work, so don’t be alarmed if you hear cute snores coming from her office.
Brendon Decker is a Graduate Research Assistant for the project. He is responsible for data management and survey development. Raised in San Antonio, he frequently visits the Pearl Farmer’s Market with his two younger brothers. He often takes weekend road trips, is a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars, and enjoys cooking for family and friends. You will rarely find him without coffee in his hand, and if you do, help him find some, for everyone’s sake.
Judge Walker is a student working on his Master's and serving as a Graduate Research Assistant for the project. Judge is in charge of participant recruitment, retention, and communication. He was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas. With a family history of military service, Judge decided to enlist in the Army and has been stationed in Texas since 2019. He enjoys serving in the Army, riding his motorcycle, and playing golf.
